Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) is both a scientific and a service department, and functions under the Cabinet Secretariat (Aviation Division). It is responsible for providing meteorological service throughout Pakistan. National Agromet Centre (NAMC) is an important division of PMD which has been setup to relate meteorological services to the most important agriculture sector of the country so as to promote the overall status of farming community.

Cotton

In areas where cotton harvesting has started, the masonry should start after 10 am. So that the shabnam on the crop may dry up . Do the masonry upwards from the bottom of the plant. Stop picking cotton at 4 p.m. Place the picked piece on a clean and dry sound cloth and place it in a high place. Keep aside the masonry of pink sundae or any other sundae affected tendas and do not immisciate it in good cotton. Cotton leaves sangli and incomplete open tendas should not be broken while masonry

Mango

Analyze the soil and water before planting new gardens. Apply commercial varieties of mango sindhi, chenab gold and white chansa. Plant new plants in gardens where there are orchards. Choose mango plants from a good nursery. The plant is shrub. The height of the plant should be two and a half to three feet and the age should be two to three years. Use healthy kernels to prepare a mango nursery. Arrange to shift the plants that have come out of the kernels to bags and the plants that are transplantable should be transplanted by taking the planted wood from a healthy plant. Keep observing the attack of leaf mainer, mango oil on new plant floors. Spray appropriate poisons in case of an attack. If the trees do not bear fruit this year and there are enough new floors, then do not apply nitrogen fertilizer to such plants, but use phosphorus and potash

Sugarcane

Pay special attention to the irrigation of sugarcane. Keep in mind the weather conditions, keep the irrigation interval of sugarcane for 20 to 30 days as required. For the fallen crop, fill with 5 kg of potash per acre of water on each irrigation. Destroy disease-infected plants in the mundi crop. Apply light traps for the physical prevention of sugarcane molasses and follow the recommendations of the Department of Agriculture. Use biphenthrine at 250 ml per acre to control blackworm attack in sugarcane
